The Osteopath Mr Glen Daniels is now a fully qualified Kinesio Taping practitioner.
Kinesio Taping was developed in Japan by Dr Kenzo Kase in 1973. It is a treatment designed to prolong the therapeutic effects of osteopathy, physiotherapy or chiropractic. Depending on application, the Kinesio Taping Method aims to provide physiological effects on the:
- Circulatory system
- Lymphatic system
- Nervous system
- Muscular and skeletal systems
The Kinesio Tape is applied in a specific manner to create change in the desired system(s). It can be worn for 3-7 days, enabling patients to continue with sporting, occupational and recreational activities.
- Reduce pain
- Supports muscles in movement
- Removes lymph congestion
- Corrects mis-alignment
- Assists a weak muscle by placing it in an optimal position
- Improves patient awareness of posture and alignment
The Kinesio Taping Method has been developed specifically to be used in conjunction with Kinesio Tape. The Kinesio Taping Association UK certifies practitioners of the Kinesio Taping Method giving them the qualification of “Qualified Kinesio Taping Practitioner” (QKTP).
